Dana Hamann is the Lead Coach with over two decades of extensive surf experience, including competing with WSL in 2018, Padrol Longboard Series (Bali) in 2022, MexiLogFest in 2023, free surfing worldwide, and teaching in Hawai’i and Indonesia for the last 8 years.

Danie Vega is the co-creator and operations wizard at DanceLightly; she is the glue that holds it all together. Together and alongside a team of trusted local surfers, DanceLightly leverages solid surf foundations while transcending the boundaries of conventional surf coaching, presenting a gateway to transformation in and out of the water.

Jarek is our head local coach born and raised in Lombok, Indonesia. He embodies the true spirit of surfing, always looking to have fun, share waves, and help others grow. His talent as a surfer and coach are unmatched, once you meet him you will know exactly what we mean. We are so thankful to have him on our team!

    I rode my first wave when I was 2 years old in my hometown, San Diego, California. Now, over twenty years later (half of that dedicating my life to the ocean and what she can teach us) after competing, free surfing, and living in Hawai’i, Australia, and Indonesia; I’ve found the greatest joy in hosting retreats and have been doing it since 2020.

  • Co-Creator + Operations

    Hello there, I’m Danie, the co-creator and operations wizard at DanceLightly. Dana likes to say I’m the glue that holds it all together. I’m originally from the Philippines but spent about 11 years living in the United States. My background is in early education but after a few years of the 9-5 grind in California, I moved back to my home country, where I discovered my passion for management. After living in Lombok, Indonesia for 5 years I realized that my genuine love for people, and taking care of them, became a passion. I’m so grateful to be able to build deep relationships and share my love with others through surf and cultural experiences.

    Meet Jarek! One of the kindest, most humble people we have ever met. He will be the last to tell you that he rips but we will be the first. His patience and passion are top notch making him a seamless addition to the DanceLightly team. Dana likes to call him her “right hand man in the water” because she knows he is someone she can trust with this deep transformative work we do with skills and mindset. The vibe, support, and tips Jarek offers are a beautiful addition to the space Dana and Danie have created. He has been with us since the beginning of our brand and growing alongside him has been such an epic experience. We are so excited to announce he will be traveling with us to all our retreats in Indonesia in 2025!
